Young Artists Take the Spotlight in Art for Our Seas Poster-Making Contest

Creativity met advocacy on April 26, 2026 as West Philippine Sea Watch held the awarding ceremony for the “Art for Our Seas: West Philippine Sea Poster-Making Contest” at St. Clare College of Caloocan.

The event celebrated the talent, passion, and creativity of student artists whose works captured their perspectives on the West Philippine Sea and the importance of protecting the country’s maritime heritage. Through vibrant visuals and powerful messages, participants transformed their ideas into compelling artworks that showcased how today’s youth understand, engage with, and advocate for issues that matter.

More than a competition, Art for Our Seas served as a platform for young Filipinos to express their voices, raise awareness, and inspire meaningful conversations about the nation’s seas and sovereignty. The awarding ceremony recognized outstanding entries while highlighting the vital role of the youth in shaping public awareness through art.

As these young artists proved, every brushstroke, color, and creative idea can help tell the story of our seas and the future we hope to protect. 🌊🎨🇵🇭
