As she stated, “Hindi lang dagat ang West Philippine Sea, ito ay isang buhay na bahagi ng ating kasaysayan, kultura, at pagkatao.” For her, the sea represents a living part of the nation's history, culture, and identity, an invaluable resource that sustains communities and serves as a safeguard for the country's sovereignty.
